Troublshooting

If you're having troubles getting these cheats to work, look at the following possibilities.

  • Make sure you have the latest version of FCEUX. These cheats should be compatible with version 2.0.0 and above, but to be sure, you should use the latest version.
  • Make sure you extracted into the proper folder. To do this, navigate to .\FCEUX\cheats folder and you should see several files with a .cht extension.
  • Remember, not all games have cheats yet. If there isn't a .cht file for your ROM, you can either check this Wiki for the game, or request cheats.
  • The .cht file must have the EXACT same name as your ROM file. If your ROMs aren't named using the standard naming convention, you will have to rename either the ROM, or the .cht file. The cht files use the most popular ROM naming conventions.
  • If you are using a ROM dump with a different header, you may have to rename the .cht file to match. ROMs with [h1], [o2], [u3], etc. after them are not the most popular dumps.
