This page lists all of the various cheat icons and when they are used.

Icon Name Description
Icon-Lives.png More Lives This icon is used for codes that increase the player's starting lives.
Icon-Lives-Infinite.png Infinite Lives This icon is used for codes that give the player infinite lives.
Icon-HitPoints.png More Hit Points The heart icon is used for codes that start the player with more hit points or energy than normal.
Icon-HitPoints-Infinite.png Infinite Hit Points This icon is used for codes that give the player infinite hit points. Note that this is different than codes that make the player invincible. Infinite hit points means you can still get hit and recoil from the damage.
Icon-Invincible.png Invincibility The star icon is used for codes that make the player invincible. Note that this is different than codes give the player infinite hit points. Invincibility means the player doesn't interact with enemies.
Icon-Weapon.png Have Weapon The sword icon is used for codes that have the player start with a better weapon, or more likely, keep a weapon throughout the game.
Icon-Armor.png Have Armor The shield icon is used for codes that start you with armor, give you improved armor, or give you infinite armor. This is common in RPGs, but can also be used in action games with with shields or barriers.
Icon-Ammo.png More Ammo The bullet icon is used for codes that start you with more ammunition. It's common in shooters, but can also be used in RPGs where you start with extra arrows.
Icon-Ammo-Infinite.png Infinite Ammo This icon is used for codes that give you infinite ammunition.
Icon-Item.png Have Item The key icon is used for codes that let the player start with special items. This is common in pretty much any game where you have an inventory. Use this code only for items, not weapons, armor, or power ups which each have their own icons.
Icon-Money.png More Money The coin icon is used for codes that increase the player's starting money be it in gold, dollars, gil, jewels, etc.
Icon-Money-Infinite.png Infinite Money This icon is used for codes that give the player infinite money.
Icon-Powerup.png Have Power Up The fire flower icon is used for codes that let the player start with or keep a power up. This should not be used for weapons, armor, or items as they each have their own icon.
Icon-Speed.png Move Faster The lightning bolt icon is used for codes that increase the player's speed. It's very common in action games, but can also be used in RPGs for dexterity and agility stats.
Icon-Strength.png More Strength The dumbbell icon is used for codes that increase the player's strength. This is common in fighting games and RPGs.
Icon-Jump.png Improved Jump The up arrow icon is used for codes that increase the player's jumping ability.
Icon-Time.png More Time The clock icon is used for codes that either give the player more starting time, or more commonly, give the player infinite time.
Icon-Score.png Higher Score The numbers icon is used for codes that have the player starting with a higher score than normal, common in sports games, or codes that increase the score of certain actions.
Icon-Warp.png Warp The whirlpool icon is used for codes that let the player start on different levels.
Icon-Challenge.png Challenger The determined face icon is used for challenge codes that make the game harder than it already is.
