Ninja Gaiden, known in Japan as 忍者龍剣伝 [Ninja Ryukenden] Legend of the Ninja Dragon Sword, is a platform beat-em-up where you play the ninja Ryu who is trying to discover why his father had a duel to the death and lost. As you search for an answer, you're plunged into a villain's plot to summon demonic forces and take over the world. You must fight through several levels with your special ninja powers in order to stop him. A sequel was released called Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (NES).
